Fathom Roboto Octopodo

 “Fathom” was a huge collaborative effort lead by Roboto Octopodo, with over 50 Portland artists endeavoring to turn the bottom floor of a parking garage into a dazzling interactive art experience reminiscent of deep sea exploration. Portal Arts Collective was invited to contribute two larger than life creatures: our “Cosmic Crustaeship” and “Angie the Anglerfish”. Spanning over twenty feet, the Crustaeship held down the north end of the block-long strip, serving as seating and as a dj booth. Angie was on the south end, inviting guests into her blacklight lit gullet with a disco ball lure. 

Beginning as a pop up event for Portland Winter Light Festival in 2024, Fathom exceeded all expectations and remained open until fall 2025. The next installation by Roboto Octopodo, titled “Prism” is expected to begin construction next year.
