“The Cosmic Crustaeship” is a massive tribute to the ideal form of all species: crabs. Inspired by “carcinization” the phenomenon of multiple crustaceans evolving into crabs, this sculpture gives a sci-fi twist to nature. Made from vintage Volkswagen parts and recycled plastic, this flying saucer giant crab hybrid is truly out of this world.
Featured at local festivals such as Oregon Country Fair, Pickathon, and Cascade Equinox Festival, as well as serving as a bandstand for the DePave block party and Portal Arts Fundraiser, “The Cosmic Crustaeship” spent the past two years at the Fathom art installation, and is now available for rent or purchase.
